Steps to Membership

We are excited that you are interested in becoming a member of our church family.  Our prayer is that you will become an active participant in ministry here at Greater St. Paul Church, as you use the gifts and talents God has given you.

Commitment Counseling

Becoming a member of Greater St. Paul Church begins with a meeting with a member of our Ministry Commitment Counselors Team. We want to know who you are and how God has been at work in your life! During your meeting with the commitment counselor, each step in becoming a member of Greater St. Paul Church will be explained to you. The commitment counselor will assist you in taking the steps required to become a member of Greater St. Paul Church.

Baptism

“Baptism” or “baptize” means to dip, immerse, or plunge something into something – usually water. The descriptions we have in the New Testament are clear that people went down into the water to be immersed. (Matthew 3:6, John 3:23, Acts 8:38) Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. (Matthew 3:13, Mark 1:9, Luke 3:23) Although He was sinless, Jesus demonstrated to us that baptism is an outward expression of the spiritual change that takes place when a person receives the free gift of salvation.

The Bible teaches us that we don’t get baptized to get saved; instead, we are baptized because of our relationship with Jesus Christ who died so we can have eternal life. Therefore, it is very important that baptism occur after a person has made a conscious decision to repent of their sins and profess their faith in Jesus Christ.

Our baptism service is held during our 11:00am Celebration Service on the first Sunday of every month.

New Member Orientation Class

All new members are expected to attend the New Member Orientation Class. New Member Orientation is generally held from 9:30am to 10:30am every Sunday. If you are unable to attend the Sunday class, an alternate class time can be arranged. During this eight-week class, members of our Ministry Team discuss what we believe, who we are as a church and what we are all about. At Greater St. Paul Church, we stress participation. You will learn about the many opportunities to get involved in ministry at Greater St. Paul Church during the New Member Orientation Class.
